We all know that the news is always changing, so here’s
an up-to-the-minute summary of issues that could affect you
as part of Blackpool’s LGBT community.
We've put together a portable LGBT display which you can
hire for your own use. With a deposit cheque of £100, which
will be returned to you after the loan if there is no damage,
you can borrow our display of LGBT memorabilia.
To arrange
the loan, please contact:
Shelly Mullarkey
Drugline Lancashire
Blackpool
Tel: 01253 311431
or email Shelly here!
Please note that the borrower is responsible for transporting
the display.
Please
do contact us and submit your experience
of being part of Blackpool’s lesbian, gay, bisexual
and transgendered community to the "Blackpool LGBT
Archive". Your memories are an important
part of Blackpool’s
heritage and will have a permanent and safe home amongst
the heritage collections at Blackpool's Central Library where
they will be accessible to future generations.
The Rainbow Project TV Chat Show is
now complete and in the editing suites. Thank you to Blackpool
City Learning Centre, and to everyone
who contributed.
We have begun to create an archive
of Blackpool’s LGBT social history. If you have a
connection to Blackpool we want to hear your story. It
could be funny, sensitive, liberating or ordinary. It might
be about discrimination, friendly welcomes or finding yourself.
What was school like? Was Blackpool a new beginning? Why
did you move away? Has Blackpool changed for the better?
What were your "good
old days"? Who did you send a postcard to?
We’d
love to hear from you. At the end of the project, our archive
will be housed at the Central Library in Blackpool.
